    Job Description:

    The refrigerated transport driver will transport processed poultry to various locations.  Local runs, home daily.  Premier offers onsite mechanics, fuel station and electronic log books in every vehicle.  Pay rate ranges between $20/hr – $22/hr depending on experience and performance.  Premier offers employee benefits and incentive bonuses.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Pre-and post inspection of vehicle
    • Work with customers to weight product samples
    • Complete paperwork daily
    • Clean trailer at end of shift

    Qualifications:

    • AZ Class license with 2 years of road experience
    • Clean criminal record (company requires criminal check)
    • Must be physically fit (able to pick up approx. 25 kilos)

    Job Summary:  

    Food production workers operate in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.  They are responsible for the production and packaging of the poultry before it is released to the shipping department.  Members of this team will work in areas such as the evisceration room, salt room, cut and pack, tray pack and box assembly.  This team has direct impact on the efficiency of our operation and contributes daily to the quality of our products.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Contributes to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety and health and safety  standards
    • Perform tasks to clean and eviscerate (remove the organs of) recently-slaughtered chickens to prepare for secondary and further processing.
    • Season poultry with salt
    • Hang birds on chiller racks and on the cut and pack line
    • Package poultry products in trays and boxes
    • Preparing / affixing labels to packaged product and boxes
    • Miscellaneous movement of boxes / bins / product
    • Takes action to correct any issues and to make improvements
    • Directly helps the department to meet targets and goals while maintaining a healthy and safe work environment
    • Maintains productivity that meets/exceeds standards
    • Contributes to the team and the whole facility in a positive way
    • Other responsibilities as required

    Required Skills, Ability and Experience:

    • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment with repetitive lifting and hanging
    • Able to stand and walk throughout the shift for extended periods of time
    • Able to bend, squat, twist and move up to 25kgs
    • Ability to grip, grasp, and lift repetitively through the course of the workday
    • Operate hand held mechanical machinery
    • Inspects chicken cavities and ensures that it is free of defects, disease or foreign matter
    • Checks products for quality defects
    • Can work well in a team environment (with CFIA) and support fellow team members with minimal supervision
    • Good communication skills, able to speak and read English
    • Previous experience working in a food processing facility is an asset
    • Ability to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene equipment, including but not limited to steel mesh guards, bump cap/hard hat, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, smock, and gloves
    • Able to work in cold environment
    • Environment is noisy, strong odors

    Premier Express Lines is currently looking for a full time Truck and Trailer Mechanic (310T).

    The Truck and Trailer Mechanic will be responsible to service, repair, overhaul, diagnose and inspect truck-trailers and their various related systems and components. Our equipment includes 2006 to 2015 Kenworth, Mac and Peterbilt trucks, and flat-bed and reefer trailers.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
    • Inspecting, diagnosing and repairing:
    • Electrical Systems
    • Landing Gear Assemblies and Trailer Frames
    • Hitching/Coupling Systems
    • Trailer Bodies
    • Suspensions Systems
    • Tires, Wheels, Hubs and Axles
    • Air and Auxiliary Systems
    • Braking Systems
    • Heating and refrigeration systems as well as ventilation devices and hydraulic systems
    • Testing and adjusting repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications
    • Performing scheduled maintenance service
    • Road test all vehicles that are in for repair to ensure requirements are met
    • Maintain work area appearance and safety

     

    Qualifications:

    •  2-3 years with a 310T Licence Required – Valid Ontario Government mechanic certificate of qualification and a valid license as a Trailer Mechanic
    • 5+ year experience working in a similar role, on similar equipment
    • Must have Welding and Fabricating experience
    • Welding ticket considered an asset
    • Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools)
    • Must have own tools
    • Must be able to work independently
    • Knowledge of relevant government legislation, government health and safety act and standards for appropriate equipment maintenance procedures and legislated certifications
    • Ability to compile reports, documentation and forms
